As Product Manager, you will be part of a team who will drive product line contributions reporting to the Category Manager /Senior Product Marketing Manager. This entails both driving incremental sales and increased profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will have responsibility for bringing products from concept through launch and manage existing product portfolio. You will have complete knowledge of competitive products and retail position. Along with your Category Director/ Sr. product manager, you will identify new product opportunities that align with your category strategies that are compelling to the consumer and our customers while identifying the best way to bring to market.
Product Managers must be able to communicate effectively with all areas of the company including:
- Senior Management – To execute category strategies that will drive product & category initiatives
- Product Development – To outline and monitor product design and pricing Sourcing/Procurement – To achieve the best possible costs and logistical efficiencies
- Creative Services – To ensure effective packaging, in-store & digital content, and visual communications
- Sales & Channel Marketing – To educate about product lines, category knowledge and how to sell
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent as the category expert
- Contribute to a 3-year category strategy and pipeline by using market research, product research, product testing, pricing and competitive analysis. Be seen as a specialist and have a deep understanding of manufacturing sourcing and consumer behavior in the space
- Build and lead schedules and timelines for new product development within a cross functional group. You will lead meetings and be responsible for assessment & communication of NPD schedules and risks related to development.
- Contribute to the management of the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, including related product roads while delivering on measurable KPIs including sales, profitability and efficiency objectives.
- Assist in the development and execution of go-to-market plans, working with all departments including manufacturing partners and sales force.
- Support sales sell-in and sell-out efforts in the category by participating in key customer business reviews and strategic planning.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or other 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field
- Minimum 3+ years of product management/development experience preferably in the CPG space
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel & PowerPoint
- Analytical and problem solving skills including strong time management and organization.
- Ability to present to small and large audiences.
- This position may require travel from time to time to customer and non-customer sites in North America as well as some travel overseas.
